ROCK CLIMBING INSTRUCTOR REFRESHER

Are you getting ready for your Rock climbing instructor assessment, or has it been a while since you did your RCI training course? are you thinking about going for your assessment? Alternatively, you might have been deferred on an aspect of the Rock climbing Instructor assessment. Then doing an RCI refresher course could be just what you need.

Adventurings Rock Climbing Instructor refresher course is a day(s) with a Mountaineering Instructor and AMI member who will focus on any areas of the Rock climbing syllabus that you feel you need to work on. We will not spend time on areas that you might already be stronger at. By the end of the day(s) you will have had a practical, hands-on day with plenty of help and advice in as many different situations as possible that will leave you feeling much stronger in those areas than when you arrived.

The Lake District provides the perfect backdrop for our Rock Climbing Instruct refresher course, with its stunning scenery and challenging terrain. Our experienced instructors will lead you through a range of activities and exercises that will help you develop your skills and knowledge. Whether you're looking to become a better instructor, or just want to improve your own climbing skills, this course is perfect for you.

WHAT WE WILL COVER DURING THE COURSE

When the course is finished we will provide you with honest feedback on where you are concerning the standard required. We will also provide you with a solid action plan of where you need to put your focus on the build-up to the assessment.

• Group management - in a single pitch environment as well as mock clients if you need it.
• Knots – when to use which and why?
• Anchor building – selecting quick, efficient and most importantly, safe anchors at the top of the crag.
• Building appropriate belays for top and bottom rope climbing.
• Rope handling and use – no more tangles and twists.
• Abseiling – both personal abseiling and with a group of clients.
• Rescues – from the simple solution to the more complex abseil ‘pick-up’
• Personal climbing – technique, strategy plus how to quickly and efficiently select and place protection.
• Use of climbing walls with groups.
• Access, conservation and the environment.

The RCI refresher course can be run alongside the Mountain Leader Refresher course or any of our over courses.

The course cost is £165 per day and includes any group kit you might need.
