Lake District Adventuring abseiling experience involves a controlled descent over a steep rock face backwards to the bottom. This is a great way to push your limits and do something different. We run our Abseiling experience from Cathedral quarry in Little Langdale a small village about 30 mins from Windermere.
Our Lake District abseiling experience involves descending down an incredible 60 meters of vertical rock. With an overhang at the bottom to add another level of excitement. But don’t worry we won’t just throw you into the deep end you’re have the chance to learn to trust and practise on a much smaller version first that is about 15 meters in height.
Do not worry if you’re not sure or confident, your instructor will be on hand to talk you through everything. At the end of the session, you’ll be led through the old quarry entrance and exits. Here you’ll have the chance to explore the tunnels and see why this is such a great place.
A great addition to making a full day of adventure is combining this abseil with a blast around Church beck to make a great full day of fun!

This abseiling experience gives you the chance to decent 60 meters into a disused quarry and then explore the amazing old quarry workings. But don’t panic, you’ll get the chance to complete a much smaller practice abseil first (15 meters).
This is a great activity for all levels of ability / age group and you really don’t need any previous experience.
