The high Atlas mountains in North Africa are simply STUNNING, we love it. A long mountain range that separates the Atlantic Coast with the Sahara desert. There are a number of 4000-meter peaks here, the highest being Jebel Toubkal at 4067 meters. The whole area has a real beautiful alpine feel to it.
You’ll also discover the stunning landscape and traditions of the Berber people as you trek through the high Atlas Mountains. The Berber people high in the mountains and have a rich culture that has been carved into the mountains. Your be treated to amazing local food such a tagines which are the traditional food of Morocco. As well drink your body weight in local tea such as green tea and if your into coffee like us, its the best.

The High Atlas mountains are very accessible from the UK, you can arrive at the base of some of them quicker than we can get to some parts of Northern Scotland!

- Experienced UK Leader qualified at ML standard or above.
- All accommodation whilst in the country.
- Mules / Porters to carry our kit to and from base camp.
- All food except for the evening meals in Marrakesh.

Throughout the whole trek you will stay in a hotel room (sharing with the same sex if you’re travelling alone) – or accommodation will be a traditional Mountain hut.
These will be booked for you by the adventuring team as part of the package.
Ideally, you’ll have walked in the UK or overseas before but no prior experience is necessarily required. We will be affected by the altitude as well as the weather but we will discuss how to manage this prior to the trek. Walking in the mountains can be very physically demanding so all we ask is that you have good level fitness.
This is a winter walking trip so there will be a requirement for ice axe’s and crampons.
We can hire these out to you if you need. You will also need B1 – B3 boots that fit well. Once we have received your booking you will be sent an extensive packing list of items that we recommend you bring.
Please do not book your flights until your place has been confirmed, We will send you details of the flights that we are on and hopefully you can book around that. Ideally we will all meet at a central airport and travel together, however if you decide to choose a different airport we ask that you try to arrive around the same time.
