Mount Toubkal Winter climb FAQ

No prior winter trekking experience is required, but a good level of fitness is essential. Our guides will provide training on using crampons and ice axes during the trek. If you have experience with multi-day trekking or hiking at altitude, you’ll be well-prepared for this challenge.

The best time for the winter ascent is between November and March when the mountain is covered in snow. These months offer a quieter, more serene trekking experience compared to the busier summer season.

Temperatures can vary depending on the altitude and time of day. At the summit, temperatures can drop as low as -10°C to -20°C (14°F to -4°F). It’s important to have proper winter clothing and gear, which we’ll help you prepare for.

Mount Toubkal’s summit is at 4,167 meters, and some trekkers may experience mild symptoms of altitude sickness, such as headaches or fatigue. To minimize risks, we follow a gradual ascent, and our guides are trained to monitor and manage altitude-related issues. If needed, we’ll adjust the pace or itinerary for your safety and comfort.
