Lake District Adventuring was founded to help people experience the mountains in a safe, skilled and genuinely meaningful way. We provide professional mountain guiding, scrambling, climbing and mountain skills instruction across the Lake District, as well as select locations in Scotland and Wales.
Our focus is simple: high-quality guiding, delivered by qualified instructors, tailored to the individual — whether you are taking your first steps into the hills or looking to progress onto more technical terrain.
Our aim is not just to guide you up a mountain — it’s to help you understand the environment, move more confidently on steep ground, and enjoy the mountains responsibly.
Whether you’re joining us for a single guided day or developing your skills over time, we want every client to leave with great memories, increased confidence and a deeper connection to the mountains.
If you’re ready to explore the mountains with professional support, we’d love to help you plan your next adventure. Take a look at our guided trips, skills courses or get in touch to discuss a bespoke experience.
Our focus is simple: high-quality guiding and adventure activities, delivered by qualified instructors, tailored to the individual — whether you are taking your first steps into the hills or looking to progress onto more technical terrain.
We believe great mountain experiences come from a balance of good decision-making, strong technical skills and local knowledge. That’s why our guiding goes beyond simply leading a route.
Every adventure in the mountains is planned around:
Your experience, confidence and goals
Current weather and ground conditions
Route choice that maximises enjoyment and safety
Opportunities to learn practical skills along the way
From guided fell walks and classic ridge scrambles to climbing and navigation coaching or Ghyll scrambling and canyoning, our approach helps clients build confidence, competence and independence in the outdoors.
We take pride in delivering professional, well-run mountain days that respect both the landscape and the people exploring it.
We deliver a wide range of guided and instructional mountain experiences, including:
Our adventures run year-round, with summer, autumn and winter availability. Each season brings different challenges and rewards, and we adapt our guiding accordingly.
While our home base is the Lake District, we also run trips and bespoke adventures in other iconic UK mountain areas, including Scotland and Wales. Locations are chosen for their quality of terrain, learning opportunities and overall experience — not just popularity.
This wider UK focus allows us to offer everything from gentle scenic days to more demanding mountain objectives.
