TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING

This document outlines the terms and conditions governing your booking with Lake District Adventuring. Please read carefully, as these conditions are crucial to ensuring a clear understanding of your booking.

Booking Confirmation

Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of full payment or a deposit. The fee for activities, courses, and events must be paid in full no later than seven days before the start date. For expeditions and extended weekends, payment is due six weeks prior to departure. Upon acceptance of your booking, a contract is formed between you and Lake District Adventuring.

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian for the duration of the booking.

Cancellation by the Client

You have 48 hours from the time of booking to amend or cancel your reservation. Cancellations within this period will receive a full refund, minus a £25 administrative fee. After this period, refunds of up to 50% may be granted at the discretion of Lake District Adventuring. This includes any changes to participant numbers or requested instructors. We strongly recommend obtaining cancellation and curtailment insurance.

Deposits for adventure activities, mountaineering courses, rock climbing courses, and mountain navigation courses are non-refundable after 48 hours. Once the booking is made, the fee is non-refundable.

Cancellation by Lake District Adventuring

In the event that Lake District Adventuring cancels an event prior to the scheduled start date, you will receive a full refund minus the non-refundable booking fee. If the cancellation is due to adverse weather, an alternative date or activity will be offered; however, no refund will be issued. We will make every effort to provide a suitable alternative.

Lake District Adventuring is not liable for any other costs incurred due to cancellations, such as accommodation, fuel, or food. Therefore, we recommend you take out cancellation and curtailment insurance.

Lake District Adventuring reserves the right to modify walks or events based on weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. We will strive to keep changes to a minimum.

Safety and Conduct

All bookings are contingent upon the customer’s adherence to safety instructions provided by Lake District Adventuring staff. Disregarding these instructions is at your own risk, and the instructor’s decisions are final.

Lake District Adventuring reserves the right to exclude any participant from an event if they are inadequately prepared, physically unfit, or pose a safety risk to themselves or others. Participants displaying aggressive or offensive behavior will also be excluded. If you voluntarily leave an event, the guide’s duty of care ends upon your departure.

Lake District Adventuring accepts no responsibility for personal property lost or damaged during events, including items left in the leader’s vehicle.

Participation in adventurous activities carries inherent risks, including injury or death. All staff are trained and qualified to mitigate these risks, but accidents can happen. By participating, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

If the event organizer is not participating, it is their responsibility to relay all relevant information (e.g., kit lists, terms and conditions) to the participants.

Provisional Bookings

Provisional bookings will be held for 48 hours. After this period, Lake District Adventuring reserves the right to alter any prior quotes. A provisional booking does not constitute a contract.

Media Consent

By completing your booking, you consent to Lake District Adventuring using any media (photographs and/or video footage) captured during the event for promotional and training purposes. If you do not wish for your image to be used, you must notify us before the event.

Data Protection

By completing your booking, you consent to the storage of your contact information. This information will not be shared with third parties except for the necessary Lake District Adventuring staff running the event. We may use your information to keep in touch via newsletters and emails.

Late Arrival

If you anticipate being late to your booking, please contact the Adventuring office. The instructor will wait a maximum of 15 minutes. After this period, no refund will be provided, and the session may not be extended.

Photographs

Instructors may take photos of your adventure, but this is not guaranteed and is not included in the booking cost. Photos will be sent to you at a convenient time, which may not be on the same day as your adventure.
