This course is for experienced navigators who want to navigate safely and confidently in low-visibility conditions. Whether you’re dealing with darkness, fog, or snow, this course will help you handle any situation.
The course takes place in the beautiful Lake District, using darkness to simulate challenging conditions. You’ll practice navigating in real-world situations, making the training practical and relevant. These skills are not only useful at night but also in other low-visibility conditions like fog or mist.
This evening course is designed to fit the natural conditions. It typically runs from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, entirely on the hillside. We confirm the exact meeting location three days before the course, so we can adjust based on the latest weather.
Take on a 60-metre descent down a dramatic vertical rock face in the heart of the Lake District. Abseiling with Lake District Adventuring is one of the most thrilling and accessible outdoor adventures in the Lake District — no previous experience needed. Under the guidance of a fully qualified instructor, you will descend a spectacular quarry crag in the Coniston area, with an optional overhang challenge near the base and caves to explore afterwards. We provide all safety equipment — harness, helmet and ropes included.
