What Is Lead Climbing?
Lead climbing means ascending a route while placing your own protection or clipping existing protection as you climb, managing rope drag and leading safely between stances. It’s the next step after top-rope climbing or seconding — and the gateway to trad, sport and multi-pitch objectives.
