Join our immersive two-day Mountaineering Introduction course, where you’ll acquire essential skills to confidently navigate and scramble through the picturesque mountains of the UK. Unlike traditional mountain walking, we actively seek out steep and rocky terrain to teach you how to navigate these environments safely, utilizing ropes on a variety of graded scrambles.

While prior basic scrambling experience, such as exploring places like Sharp Edge and Tryfan or engaging in minimal rock climbing, is beneficial, it’s not a prerequisite. Our experienced Mountaineering and Climbing Instructors, who are proud members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors, will lead the course. Over the two days, they will guide you through the entire program, adapting to your current skill level.

The Mountaineering Introduction course is designed for ample hands-on experience, allowing you to practice and learn extensively during your time with us. Our instructors adopt a hands-off approach, encouraging you to maximize your practical learning on mountain scrambles. We run the Mountaineering Introduction course throughout the year in the Lake District and Snowdonia National park.

Many participants use this course as a stepping stone towards independent exploration of popular routes like Jack’s Rake, challenging scrambles such as the Inaccessible Pinnacle (Inn Pinn) in Skye, or various scrambles in the enchanting landscapes of North Wales.
