Introduction to Mountaineering & Scrambling Course

Mountaineeing and Climbing in the Lake District

2 Day Scrambling Course – Lake District

If you’ve spent time hillwalking in the mountains and want to take the next step into steeper and more adventurous terrain, Adventurings Introduction to Mountaineering & Scrambling Course in the Lake District is designed for you.

Over two days in the mountains we’ll develop the skills required to move confidently and safely on classic scrambling routes, learning how to use ropes, manage exposure, and travel efficiently through rocky terrain.

Scrambling is often described as the bridge between hillwalking and rock climbing — climbing steeper ground where hands and feet are used together to progress along ridges and rock steps.

The Lake District is one of the best places in the UK to learn these skills, with classic routes such as Cam Crag Ridge, Pinnacle Ridge, and other Grade 1–3 scrambles providing the perfect learning environment.

This course is ideal for anyone wanting to step into mountaineering, build confidence on exposed ground, and develop the skills needed for bigger objectives such as alpine climbing or the Cuillin Ridge on Skye.
